Tulsa has done an excellent job building dog-friendly spaces, and some of these parks are destinations in their own right. Here are my favorite dog parks around the Tulsa Metro.
Biscuit Acres, Bark Park
Case Community Park, Sapulpa
Located in the Case Community Park in Sapulpa, Biscuit Acres is one of the most well-loved dog parks in the entire region. It features separate areas for large and small dogs, plenty of shade, water stations, agility equipment, and even a dog wash station. This is a true community hub for dog owners and worth the short drive from Tulsa.
Turkey Mountain Off-Leash Area
South Tulsa
For the dog that loves a real adventure, Turkey Mountain's off-leash area is hard to beat. Miles of rugged trails, wooded terrain, and stunning views of the Arkansas River make this more than a dog park, it's a full hiking experience. Your dog will come home tired and happy. Just be sure your pup is comfortable on uneven terrain before tackling the longer trails.
Chandler Park Dog Park
West Tulsa
Located in west Tulsa, Chandler Park's dog park offers a well-maintained fenced area with separate sections for large and small dogs. It's spacious, shaded, and conveniently located near the rest of the Chandler Park complex, which includes walking trails, playgrounds, and a disc golf course. A great option for families who want to bring the whole crew out for the afternoon.
Riverside Dog Park
Along the Arkansas River near 21st Street
Positioned along the Arkansas River near 21st Street, this popular off-leash area gives dogs plenty of open space to run with river views and a natural setting. It's one of the more scenic dog parks in the metro, and the river trail is a bonus for owners who want to walk or jog while their dog explores.
The PAWS Dog Park, Owasso
Owasso
This well-designed park in Owasso features separate areas for large and small dogs, shade structures, benches, and water stations. The park was built with community input and it shows, everything is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. It's a great option for families in the northern part of the metro.
Broken Arrow Dog Park
Near Broken Arrow Library and Ray Harral Nature Park
Located near the Broken Arrow Library and Ray Harral Nature Park, this off-leash area is a favorite among Broken Arrow residents. It offers plenty of open grass, shade trees, and a welcoming community of regulars who bring their dogs out to socialize.
Tips for Visiting Tulsa Dog Parks
Bring water for your dog, even if the park has water stations, they can run out on busy days. Most parks are busiest on weekend mornings, so if you prefer a quieter visit, try a weekday afternoon. Always keep an eye on your dog around new playmates and bring waste bags to keep the parks clean for everyone.
