If you're a fisherman considering a move to Tulsa, you're going to love it here. Oklahoma has over 200 man-made lakes, and the Tulsa Metro puts you within easy reach of some of the best freshwater fishing in the country. Here are my personal favorites:

Did you know? Oklahoma has over 200 man-made lakes, more than almost any other state in the country. That means no matter where you live in the Tulsa Metro, a great fishing spot is always within reach.

1

Keystone Lake

About 30 minutes west of Tulsa

Known for excellent striped bass and catfish, with over 300 miles of shoreline and multiple access points to find your perfect spot.

2

Skiatook Lake

About 30 minutes north

Crystal-clear water and stunning scenery. A local favorite for largemouth bass and a peaceful day on the water.

3

Oologah Lake

About 40 minutes north

Great for crappie, bass, and catfish with beautiful wooded shorelines. Less crowded than some of the bigger lakes.

4

Fort Gibson Lake

About an hour east

One of Oklahoma's oldest reservoirs, known for excellent fishing and wide-open water with fewer crowds.

5

Grand Lake O' the Cherokees

About an hour and a half northeast

One of the state's premier fishing destinations with clear water, numerous marinas, and trophy-sized catches.

6

Illinois River (near Tahlequah)

About an hour east

Famous for float trips and trout fishing in a gorgeous Ozark setting. A completely different experience from the lakes.

7

Lake Tenkiller

About an hour and a half southeast of Tulsa

Known as "Tennessee of Oklahoma" for its stunning clear water and scenic Ozark hills. Excellent for bass, catfish, and crappie.

Whether you're a weekend angler or a competitive fisherman, Tulsa puts you within reach of some of the best fishing in the country. Moving here for work? Let me help you find a home with easy lake access.
