If you're still deciding how to celebrate America's birthday, I've rounded up some of the best events happening across the Tulsa area. Whether you're looking for spectacular fireworks, family activities, or a fun night out, there's something for everyone!
Broken Arrow LibertyFest
Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026
Time: Festival begins around 10:00 a.m., fireworks at approximately 10:00 p.m.
Location: Events Park, next to the Broken Arrow Events & Community Center
The Broken Arrow LibertyFest is one of the city's largest Independence Day celebrations and is a free, family-friendly event. Activities throughout the day include carnival rides, food trucks, live entertainment, local vendors, kids' activities, and patriotic festivities, with live music leading up to the fireworks.
This year's celebration also ties into America's 250th Birthday, so the City of Broken Arrow has expanded the festivities with several patriotic events leading up to July 4:
- Community block parties
- Veteran banner displays in the Rose District
- A patriotic concert in Central Park
- A community blood drive campaign
- $2.50 admission to city pools on July 4
- Church bells ringing for 250 seconds at 2:50 p.m. on Independence Day
Pro Tip:
- Arrive by 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. if you're coming mainly for the fireworks, parking fills quickly.
- Bring lawn chairs or a blanket.
- Expect heavy traffic immediately after the fireworks conclude.
- If you're bringing young children, ear protection is a good idea for the fireworks.
Folds of Honor FreedomFest presented by QuikTrip
Date: Saturday, July 4
Time: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Fireworks begin at 9:30 PM
Location: River West Festival Park & Zink Lake Watch Zone, Tulsa
One of Oklahoma's largest free fireworks shows, drawing an estimated 80,000 spectators along the Arkansas River. The fireworks are visible from miles away and are launched over the river for a spectacular display.
Family-friendly activities include:
- Kids Zone with inflatables and games
- Face painting
- Food trucks and beverages
- Live music throughout the evening
- Monster Energy BMX Stunt Shows
- Color Guard presentation and National Anthem before the fireworks
- Free admission
Pro Tip:
Arrive early, around 6:00 to 7:00 PM, to enjoy the activities and secure a great viewing spot. River West Festival Park and the Zink Lake Watch Zone are both excellent places to watch the fireworks.
Jenks BoomFest
Date: Saturday, July 4
Time: Activities begin throughout the day, Oklahoma Aquarium opens at 6:30 PM, Fireworks begin around 9:15 to 9:30 PM
Location: Jenks Riverwalk, Oklahoma Aquarium & Arkansas River, 300 Aquarium Dr., Jenks
One of the largest and most vibrant fireworks displays in the Tulsa region, launched over the Arkansas River with viewing available from both sides of the river.
At the Oklahoma Aquarium:
- Front row riverfront fireworks viewing
- Aquarium exhibits open before the show
- Food and beverage vendors
- Aquarium members receive free admission
- General admission for non-members
- Paid parking available
- Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged
- Coolers with sealed bottled water only are permitted
At the Jenks Riverwalk:
- Live music
- Family-friendly activities
- Restaurants and outdoor dining
- Shopping
- Great views of the fireworks along the river
Pro Tip:
Arrive by 6:30 to 7:00 PM for easier parking and the best viewing spots. The pedestrian bridge, Riverwalk, and aquarium lawn are all popular locations and fill up quickly.
Bixby Freedom Celebration
Date: Friday, July 3
Time: 6:00 PM to 9:45 PM, Patriotic Program at 8:45 PM, Fireworks at 9:45 PM
Location: Bentley Park Sports Complex, 8505 E. 148th St. S., Bixby
One of the largest free community fireworks celebrations in the Tulsa metro, hosted by The Bridge Church. Admission and parking are free.
Activities include:
- Massive Kids Zone with inflatables and games
- Junior Firefighter Challenge
- Food trucks and local vendors
- Patriotic program honoring veterans and first responders
- Military swearing-in ceremony
- Live entertainment
- Spectacular fireworks finale at 9:45 PM
Pro Tip:
Bring lawn chairs or blankets and arrive by 6:30 PM for the best parking and viewing location.
Owasso Red, White & BOOM
Date: Saturday, July 4
Time: Pre-Show Celebration: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Fireworks at 9:30 PM
Location: Redbud Festival Park (Pre-Show), Fireworks launched from the Owasso Golf & Athletic Club
Enjoy a free evening of family fun before one of the largest fireworks displays in northeast Oklahoma. The fireworks can be viewed from numerous locations throughout Owasso.
Pre-Show activities include:
- Watermelon eating contest
- Live music
- Inflatables
- Face painting
- Lawn games
- Food trucks
- Family-friendly entertainment before the fireworks begin
Pro Tip:
If you'd rather avoid the biggest crowds, you can still enjoy the fireworks from many parking lots and parks throughout Owasso since the shells are launched high above the Owasso Golf & Athletic Club.
